Hallelujah!
The wife was offered a new job this week.
Basically, she'll be teaching a private Pre-K class at the church that we attend.
This is good on many points:
1. She'll only have 8-10 kids in the class at any given time. At her current job, she has 25-30.
2. She'll have to work less hours. Right now she works 7:30-5:30 (M-F) with a 2 hour break in the middle. With the new job, she'll work 8:30-2:30 (M-F). Less hours!
3. She'll make more money. At the moment, she makes about $8. The new job offered her a salary where she'll make more (not a huge amount) then currently, but she's also working less hours.
4. When school is out for holidays, (i.e. Xmas, Thanksgiving, etc...) she'll be paid for the entire holiday. At her current job, she just got the day of the holiday off. The new job follows a typical school year, so she'll get around 2 weeks off for Xmas.
5. She'll be able to drop-off and pick up our daughter from school. No day care required = less cost.
6. If my daughter has a holiday or teacher day (forgot what these are called), she can go to my wife's new job and they'll set up care for her for that day. Again, less cost.
Overall, less hours, less kids, and more money is a great deal for my wife, as her health (Fybromyalgia) was slowly deteriorating with the current job, and the current management had taken a turn for the worse, and was treating her like shit.
Should be interesting as to what they say or do when she submits her 2 weeks, as she is one of the few people there that has a CDL to drive the buses.
