Golfing

So my love-hate affair with the sport of golf is on an upswing. I took a couple years off.  Last week was the first week of my company's summer golf league, I picked up the clubs again and shot my handicap. I won some cash! So that's going OK.  It's almost like in the time off, I lost some bad habits.  Well the next round is today, so maybe I'm just full of shit and I'll do horrible today.

In case you are wondering, my handicap in the league is 21.  That's only for nine holes. I don't even have one for 18 because I can never get all the way through 18 holes without getting bored, tired and dehydrated. But I have a good time with nine.

I used to work with a guy that was an awesome golfer. He said that in order to actually enjoy the sport you need to golf either fewer than 2 times per year or more than 40. If you're in between you golf just enough to care and be pissed off but not enough to get better...

I usually go once every other year. This year I'm trying to get into it a little bit more. The goal: don't double the par. \r \r I still would never consider it a sport, but it can make you want to break stuff, kick kitties and swear at old people.

If I lived in AZ we would have to go play sometime.

If I lived in Virginia the same statement would apply.
