Genius

Back when I was a young sack of bones and hormones I came up with an idea that I thought was brilliant but no one around me seemed to "get."  It was in my high school days and at that time it was all the rage to wear T shirts and get bumper stickers proclaiming "Save The Whales!"  One day in my Government class (taught by the most left wing, Amnesty Int'l chapter leader, granola crunching, Birkenstock wearing, hippie teacher I'd ever had) I proudly proclaimed that I had the solution to the "whale problem." 

"Let's create whale farms" I said.

I might has well have suggested reopening Auschwitz.  It seemed pretty simple to me.  People wanted what whales had to offer so why not create an area to raise them like we do cows or any other number of animals.  Now, I can grant that the actual execution of creating a whale farm was probably a bit naive, I'm not sure you could ever actually pull it off but the concept of "farming" the endangered seemed pretty sound and was of course lost on my teacher and most of the students in the class.

Fast forward 20 years (OMG! IT'S BEEN 20 YEARS!!!) and I'm on the couch a few weeks ago flipping through all 6 of the channels on my Mom's TV when I run across the following....
