Forming a Halo Player... 8: Mission 1 Complete
So I sat down with her last night to watch her play. At first I was getting angry like I normally do but she's italian and she started getting angry too and I didn't want any of that :) So I calmed down and just helped her focus on the important stuff, and she ended up completing mission one, 3 BTB games with 5 or less deaths. I don't know if I should count this or not because she got lucky in that they were all Ragnarok and she has a "process" she does on Ragnarok;. What she does is she runs to the sniper, sets up on base, if she sees someone she snipes (at) them, if she doesn't she waits. If a vehicle comes nearby she goes invisible or runs, unless she feels she can get a sticky on them, which she did a few times on Exile last night but I don't think she got any in these three games. Here's the stats for the 3 games:
GAME 1: 50 points, 2 kills, 3 assists, 1 death.
GAME 2: 25 points, 2 kills, 0 assists, 3 deaths.
GAME 3: 35 points, 3 kills, 1 assist, 2 deaths.
You may notice she went positive on two of those games, so she almost completed mission 2 and 3 as well (3 BTB games 5 or less deaths with positive ka/d, then positive k/d). I think she will accomplish Mission 2 fairly quickly, but Mission 3 I think will take her a bit longer and I'll have some time to work with her.
So she had .35k / .68ka / 37%w before she played last night, and .37k / .70ka / 38%w when she finished last night. An improvement across the board!
As promised here's another video. I could not find the video I was thinking of (it may have been my son who is fairly new to Halo matchmaking (we've done a lot of the campaigns together) as well, I think he went 20 and 19 with the assault rifle). This video she goes 9 kills, 2 assist, 11 deaths so almost double kills with a positive ka/d:

QUESTION FOR YOU: I kind of wondered if I should have done this a bit different, like tried to get her kills up to double digits THEN worried about deaths. Thoughts? May be too late, but the thought did cross my mind...
