First Fishing Day of the Season

W
Waterborn

I finally got out on Mass. Bay today to go fishing for the first time this season. As some of you may know, one of my main area of interests is watersports, particularly kayaking. (who'd of thunk with my Gamertag and all?). My buddies and I fish via kayak, for stripers and bluefish mostly. The season usually doesn't really begin until mid-June, but it looks like the fish have arrived a bit early this year. All the fish we caught today were too small (MA regs require stripers to be at least 28" to keep) and had to be returned to Mother Ocean, but it sure was good to get out on the water and cast some lines. Check out these pics to see what we hooked into today.

Looks like you had fun. I would like to get a kayak but I don't think they make one big enough for my fat butt.

I once met a REALLY cute guy who was into kayaking... \"paddle like you are petting a puppy.\"\r \r That's all I remember about him.

Nice fish. Do you rent those kayaks or own them? I really wanted to buy a Ocean Kayak but were around 1800 bucks,

Pearl, I took the photos. The two pics of the fish only are on my kayak.\r \r Ekkatan, I own 5 kayaks, including the 15' Ocean Kayak Prowler fishing sit on top that you see in the pic. Depending on where you live, you might want to check out boatertalk.com or your local Craiglist for boats that are on sale in your area. There is a \"Swap Meet\" forum over at boatertalk that usually has tons of boats up for grabs at very reasonable prices.
