Fired

Called the dad this afternoon.  The boy is outside playing.  They did find a bump on his head last night, and the father woke him up 2-3 times last night to check on him, but nothing negative in that regards.

Seems like everything will end up good.  The father was appreciative that I called to ask about the boy, and even told us that he would like to get to know our family better since we seemed like a very nice couple.  His family is moving to my town in a few months so that's why he told us that.

So hopefully that will be the last of the incident.
