I can appreciate your feedback and reaction. My father has been in the service industry for all of my life. First he owned his own appliance sales and service company for almost two decades, and has spent the last decade plus as an independent contractor doing service calls. He is, quite literally, the Maytag Repair Man.\r

Like you said, it's intimidating to have to give up so much control over your life (by way of your hard earned money) to someone without really knowing - or more appropriately, understanding - what you're giving it up for. However, we have to entrust that there are as many, and a lot more in all actuality, good people in the world doing a fair days work for a fair wage as rip-off artists.
Mom and Pops will beat out the big boys any day. Tara (and the other posters) probably wish they had somebody like you near. I'd let ya work on my AC....if you would get your mom to quit working on me! Hah! :)
Dear DeltaT, \r
I have a serious problem with the HVAC system at my workplace. In Florida, we have extremely warm summers and when the crackheads down the street jack the unit from the back of the building it gets rather muggy in my office and I start sweating profusely. Is there any advice you could give on how to alleviate my problem.\r

(seriously dude, crackheads stole our unit. They cut the cords and pipes clean off and just hauled it away. When the police came to investigate, they told us that we might want to hold off on replacing it soon because the bandits have stolen multiple units off of other buildings in the area.)
Ever catch the John Stossel 20/20 about teachers and how theyre supposedly so lazy and block any kind of \"advancement\" in teaching? That guy is a fukhole and I dare HIM to do my job for 2 days. Not one, cuz anybody can \"survive\" for one day, how much learning would actually take place?
The 80's was fresh y'all!
That is my Wedding Song.
That's a good question.
