Fantastic Day

Man days like this just don't come by often enough, but if they did you wouldn't appreciate them. 

I had my 30 day review today at work, I’ve never heard of a 30 day review, a 90 day, yes, but a 30 day, never. Anyway, they ask me if I can stay over for my review because things have really been busy lately as we approach our first ship date. I said that I have to call my wife so she can pick up the kids, but after that yes I can stay. While on the phone with the wife, she says that UPS came by today to drop off a package, I have no idea what this could be as I haven’t ordered anything in months. She says that it was from Symmetry Fitness, which is the company I work for, I was slightly confused at this point. She said that it was a gift for Madison, the new baby. Never have I worked for a company that cared for their employees this much. It wasn’t a cheap gift either, it was a play center which easily would cost 40-50 dollars. So that meant more to me than the awesome review I was about to receive.

The review went extremely well, I was worried yesterday when I was told that it was my review time. For some strange reason I thought I was going to lose my job, I suppose when you really care about your job you worry a little more than you should, it’s been a long time since I have cared about my job other than looking at it as just a paycheck. Anyway, I scored well in all areas, and I was told that they have been really impressed with my knowledge and performance in the past 30 days. So I received a substantial pay increase, which just blew me away, as I was already pleased with what they started me at.

Then to ice the cake, I went by EB Games to pick up my copy of GRAW 2, so things are good. Man days like this just don't come by often enough, but if they did you wouldn't appreciate them.
