Fallout New Vegas Thoughts

I'm just not digging Fallout New Vegas.  Granted, I've had a hell of a week at work, putting in a lot of hours, and have really only played it for 2 hours.  I guess the first thing that turned me off was all the screen tearing in the opening sequence, then, I was trying to review the SPECIAL settings I had selected, and hit right trigger to cycle through them and it committed me.  Next, it just seemed kludgey.  I understand I'm building my gun skills up, but I was lucky if I was hitting a sarsparilla bottle one out of four tries.  The opening missions just seemed boring, and a rad scorpion had a hard on to kill me often.  Maybe I'll go back to it when things settle down a bit.


Next week, Best Buy has a buy 2 get 1 free on select games.  I guess I'll pick up Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Fable 3.  Not sure what to grab for the third game, Smackdown vs. Raw 2011?  Shaun White Skateboarding? Castlevania?  Sims 3?  FIFA 11?  I guess we'll see.  I'm kind of leaning towards Smackdown.  Laugh if you will, but fighting games can be fun, and I've had a decent time with SVR 2010.  I don't know, maybe Castlevania.


Guess I should do some football picks:


Alabama @ Tennessee - Bama, get through this game, into the bye week and see if we can't regroup and come out swinging against LSU


LSU @ Auburn - Tough one.  Both have been charmed, but API has been extremely lucky.  I'm going to go with LSU


Georgia @ Kentucky - Another tough call.  I think Georgia's been on the mend, so I'm picking them.


Wisconsin @ Iowa - Wisconsin.  I still ain't giving Iowa respect.


Nebraska @ Oklahoma State - Nebraska


Oklahoma @ Missouri - I don't know much about Missouri, but Oklahoma hasn't been playing consistently well.  Still, I'll pick Oklahoma.

I did the same thing with the SPECIAL, you can change them again when you go to leave town for the first time.\r \r I'm not laughing at you about SvR 11 I will probably get it by the end of the year, I really liked that you could make your own story lines in 2010, though I don't know if you can in the new one.

New Vegas is on my list to get; i'm gonna wait till some reviews come out before i make final choice.

@Jedi - yeah, I saw that when I was trying to farm xp to boost up my explosive skills to get Pete to join my stand against the Power Gangers. Anyway, I've just been exhausted and my mind is swimming so it seemed like this was doomed for me from the beginning. Not sure about the story lines in SVR 11, I would imagine they'd be there.\r \r @soldier, you may want to wait for a patch. I haven't had anything major happen, just small annoyances. Worst offender has been the pip boy not displaying properly when brought up.
