Evolution of the Man Cave

I while back I moved to a new apartment. That lady that lived here before me had begun to partition off a room in the basement of the townhouse and I decided to continue with the project. Keep in mind that this was done on the cheap since it's a rental. The carpet is from Olly's ($70) and the paint was $9 a gallon from Lowe's (the good stuff). The couch was free from a friend. It's a piece of shit, but that's where I spill my beer and fart...so no big deal. You can't see it in these pics, but I had to finish building the wall on the left side. Did you know you can get the drywall with rough edges for $3 a sheet?? The TV cabinet was built using the wood that you see in the before picture. Add in the cost of stain and hardware = $12. The TV and speakers were paid for by the online stuff I blogged about earlier. TLC here I come.

I found a guy in town who has a bunch of left over ceiling tiles from his business, so the next project is a drop ceiling to cover those ugly beams.

Great job, that's a real improvement! Now all you need is a mini-fridge.

Love the system. Wish I had the balls to do what you did to get the money.
