Everything was going well...

Well believe it or not it's been three months since I had a kidney stone.  I had to alter my diet and take some medication and poof 15 years of kidney stone hell resolved.  The bad news ismy Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a few months ago and it's in his lymph nodes.  He has two inoperable tumors.  He has had one round of chemo and that has kept the tumors from growing but they haven't shrank any either.  Radiation is not an option and he doesn't qualify DNA wise for any of the new lung cancer med trials.  The funny thing is he quit smoking over 30 years ago and it comes up from behind and bites him in the ass now.  He starts maintenance chemo in two weeks. The guy is an enigma(I think thats the right word) his attitude is positive, he hasn't lost his sense of humor and he rarely bitches about all the bullshit they are putting him through.  Sorry to be such a Debbie downder and being AWOL so much lately.  I just needed to get this off my chest it's been eating at me.  Please save a good thought for my Dad and Mom.
