Man is it just where I am at or does everyone have this problem? My 2 year old was running a fever for two days straight (Tuesday & Wednesday), so I had to stay home with him due to daycare not being able to keep a sick child. I called in to my job like I am supposed to, I got doctor's notes, again like I am supposed to according to company policy. Well I get home yesterday from picking the other kids up from daycare and there is a message on my answering machine to call my job. I already knew what it was going to be about, so I called and they fired me. What assholes, I follow the rules and still get shitted on. Fuck 'em, I already got a new job making more money, and with more days off as I will be working 12 hour shifts. I hope his kids come down with some fucked up shit and he has to pay out the ass in hospital bills.  Well maybe not his kids, but him at least.

Must be different over there to here in the UK they wouldnt be able to do that at all.\r Man it does suck though and i am sure you dont mean that about his kids him yes but not his kids :)

You might want to edit the part about his kids. Doesn't reflect on you very well. Just a suggestion.

That is just wrong. I think even here in the states you could file a greivence. Glad to hear you got a better job.

You don't need to edit your post Thorn. Any of us that know you know you are not that kind of person. You love your kids and are a great dad to stay home with them when they are sick. Don't let the PC police change your rants.

I'm an Office Manager, and if I were you, I would speak to someone at a higher level. Is the company you worked for big? Do they have a corporate HR department, or a corporate compliance committee? I know you don't work for them anymore, but this could happen to someone else too....

Thanks Doc. Unfortunately Wilderz they are a very small company, definitely not a corporation. And also unfortunately I'm sure I won't be the last one this kind of thing happens to. There is a joke here in NC that employees have the right to work and that's about it.
