Drinking
I have had a really long week. I have been behind because of personal matters, but I have finally caught up today. Finally. And needless to say, I want a drink. I am going to try and convince Iaco and Yount Smash to take me out Friday night. (And, of course, if there is anyone else living in the central Indiana area, you are more than welcome to come. The more the merrier.)
If I am forced to go alone, so be it. (And with that awesome lead-in, here is my poem for the day!)
Drinking Alone in the Moonlight
Li Po (701-762)
Beneath the blossoms with a pot of wine,
No friends at hand, so I poured alone;
I raised my cup to invite the moon,
Turned to my shadow, and we became three.
Now the moon had never learned about drinking,
And my shadow had merely followed my form,
But I quickly made friends with the moon and my shadow;
To find pleasure in life, make the most of the spring.
Whenever I sang, the moon swayed with me;
Whenever I danced, my shadow went wild.
Drinking, we shared our enjoyment together;
Drunk, then each went off on his own.
But forever agreed on dispassionate revels,
We promised to meet in the far Milky Way.
I have edited out a lot that was originally posted. There are two reasons for this 1. I just needed to get it off my chest and now that it is done I can let go 2. I am usually a very upbeat person but that blog just didn't show my better side! So, if you read it, thank you for your replies. If not, that's perfectly fine too, it was just a lot of bad news anyway! (You rocked grma!)
