Do Not Pass Go

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Board games seem to always play a part in family get-togethers, especially around Christmas. I was reintroduced to Monopoly this year which created a discussion around the game pieces and who got to play with what piece. I like the top hat. I don't really know why. I guess its because that piece relates to the Chairman of the Board - the games iconic figure. Perhaps it symbolizes leadership? Dunno.

So, I'll put it to you. Which piece is your favorite and why?

I always wanted to be the car, but wound up with the hat. So now I choose hat out of habit.\r \r When did they have a ship?

Race car. I'm the guy in every monopoly game who gets sloshed and makes driving noises when I move the game piece.

Concerning the Ship:\r I found my version of the game last night. I'm missing the Scotty and the Wheelbarrow but the Ship is there. My copy would have been bought in the late 70's.

I always wanted to be the Battleship, but it was discontinued for a long time. It was in my grandmothers set, but not in my mothers set.\r \r SC

When I was little I was always the thimble or the top hat. I'd put it on my pinky finger and tap the squares on the board every time it was my turn move. Looking back now, it must have annoyed the hell out of anyone I played with.
