Divorce FTW

A little babble if I may. I got tired of doing this one at a time. As only a few of you are aware, my marriage of three years will be legally over in about 30 days. Today is our 3rd year anniversary, and the day we signed the dissolution paperwork to be submitted to the courts. We were together over 8 years. I am one of the toughest emotional bastards you will ever meet….but it kinda sucks. This is the second hardest thing I have ever had to go through. Without going into specifics…we both could have done a lot differently, but in the end she decided it was not worth saving. We have been separated for the last 6 months, and I moved into the back of my office in November. It was not a bad gig, I was lucky to have it. Approx 1000 sq feet, internet, satellite TV, bed, shower, and my dog. It had all the basics….but it was my office. Two weeks ago I moved back my house, which I bought as part of the settlement. Nothing tastes as good as a Bell’s Pale Ale from your own tap and dropping a deuce in your own toilet. So my wife got most of the furniture…I got the important stuff…my dog, the house, and the reference quality audio/visual gear. I have kept my sense of humor (or bitter sarcasm). Although my wife did not find it amusing when I wanted to go out for a celebratory anniversary/divorce lunch today, or when I told her Ohio changed it’s divorce law and she is required to give me an annual BJ. Since I have moved back into the house my mood has picked up, have started to eat like a real person (I lost 25 lbs) and in the long run will be much better off…or maybe sooner. Men, lock up your daughters. Women, leave open the blinds and kindly ignore the Jergens bottle and tissues on your lawn. Peace.
