Sometimes I think this diversity awareness, equal opportunity, "Lets all be politically  correct and not offend anyone" bullshit goes way too far.

They have even gone and taken down a fucking Christmas tree because it might offend someone.  You know what, if it offends you so damn much, don't fucking look...that's what I do about shit.  Celebrate Kwanza, Hanukka, whatever...if it offends someone THEY have a problem, not you.  But don't go complaining that your particular holiday doesn't get play like the supposed Christian holidays do, which, for the record Christmas is not a **Christian holiday, it is a pagan holiday (Just like most of the other supposed Christian Holidays) that Catholics decided would be a great day to celebrate Jesus' birth on so that the Christian boys and girls could have fun on the pagan holiday too...whoopdie fucking doo.  And yes...piss you off that may...I don't give a fucking shit.  I celebrate Christmas, not because of any religious or pagan significance but because it makes my kids eyes light up to see the tree all lit up, because I love making my kids happy, because Christmas is a special time of year for KIDS...so get over your fucking idiot selves and get a god damn life.  It's fucking CHRISTMAS!!


I am not saying that we shouldn't respect people, not saying that diversity is a bad thing...but sometimes people get so caught up in the diversity of each other that we forget how much people are actually alike.  Seeing this story tonight on the news really got to me...and I just had to rant.

I would have to totally agree.\r \r I do celebrate x-mas for different reasons, but its not about how you celebrate....or what you celebrate or don't.\r \r mutual respect and common fucking sense come to mind.\r \r Just because you don't like that choice doesn't mean the choice should be removed so no one else can make that choice.\r \r I don't like smoking and do not smoke. And while I dont think its a smart decision to smoke....I only make that decision for myself. Not anyone else.\r \r And that doesn't mean everyone that smokes should not smoke because of what I've chosen. I may not like peoples decisions to smoke...but I RESPECT that choice and leave it at that.\r \r Same with anything else.\r \r People want their way or the high way all the time now. Its either the way so & so believes or no one gets pie.\r \r Fuck you I want some pie dammit.\r \r ;)

I generally agree, but will take exception to the smoking being someone's own personal business. It is, to the extent that you can pay for your own healthcare when stricken with debilitating illness. Don't THEN come crying to society about how you cannot afford the lobectomy and months of chemo. If you have a right to smoke, you also have the right to die without spending tax dollars to do so OR simply skipping out on the bill, which raises MY healthcare premiums.

I respectfully disagree when the display of religious symbols comes from a public budget or in a place where it is inescapable. I love a good Christmas tree. But do I need one in my home, my office, my school, my shopping mall, my post office, my coffee shop, my kid's school...\r \r I'm not saying MSU shouldn't have a tree up, but it is worth asking is this fair. Just my $.02.
