some of you may or may not know that I work as a dental technician in a pretty busy local lab in GA. we get heaps of work from several local doctors.
Here is where I get to vent! -
Price of a Crown - 700-900$ (what dr. charges here)
Price we charge Dr - 120$ ( he makes 580$ profit off the top)
If i were to ask Dr. for a price cut, he'd laugh and say "thats what your insurance is for," my insurance only pays 50%,.. thats like 500$ out of my pocket for him to seat something i made for him, what a Joke!
anyway, we got a case in the other day, a 3unit bridge,.. prescription says "Discount, Discount! this person works in doc's office!"
blah!,.. it hit a nerve.... im sure you could imagine

I agree! Most dentists we work for are asses like that! They want anything done for their family or employees for next to nothing, but heaving forbid I need anything done, I'ee never get a discount! :(
lol, a friend in our Metal Grinding dept. needed a Crown, he got a discount,... guess what kind,... some Cerec crown made in dentist office, i about wanted to slap him... lol
