Comment Moderation Is Now Live
I cant stop adding features! Anyway, the comments in the news section can now be moderated by the community. How you rate the comments will have an effect on what kinda of points a person receives for that comment. Also, if you go into your account sections, you will see a tab for configuring your comments. Here you can set a threshold on each comments and decide whether or not you want to view the points for that comment. This is so, if you want, you can decide to only see comments with +2 points or great. This comes in very handy if you see spam or some other lame comment. The more you mod it down, the deeper it will fall below your threshold. Pretty cool huh. Better to let the community mod it. :)

Are there karma points for submitting news?
@TANK\r
\r
You need to set \"show points\" in your comments settings. This will show all the points for each comment on the news item. You get either plus 1 or minus one for each comment. The points for comments may change and forum post should only be giving 1 point for a thread start only.\r

What are you confused about exactly? The descriptions should be examples of reason to give a comment a +1 or a -1. So funny, would be a +1. \r

If you submit news and it actually makes it to the home page, you get 20 points.
I've been testing and it seems like blog postsings get 5 points and responses to your blog get like 2. Starting a forum thread gets 2 points, responses in your thrad get 1. Commenting in a news story gets 2, posting one gets 5? Posting a video gets nothing. That's just what i've been able to determine through testing and not having anything real to go off of.\r
\r
So when are we going to get a leaderboard? :)
@Gatsu \r
\r
Yes, points are used for many things. The big thing about points, is that they tell members how much you contribute to the site. Are you a long time member? Just a lurker? All that can be answered by points.\r
\r
In the future, points will replace things like post count as well. This way, you can be awarded ranks based on home much you contribute to the site as a whole. \r
\r
These ranks can then be used to access other parts of the site. So for instance. Say you are not a SCC member. Earning points throughout the site, could unlock the same features that others donate to get. Basically, you would earn them instead. \r
\r
The same can go for spending the points. Lets say you have 1,000 points. We can actually set it up for that you are able to trade in those points for a T-shirt, downloads, or some other gear. None of this is set in stone, but its all ready to be launched as of right now.
