Circuit City's Bogus Accessories Deal

So, for those who read Darth Clem's blog last week, Circuit City ran a Buy One Get One or some such thing on Xbox360 accessories.  The point was you buy a 1600 point card and you get one for free.


Well guess how many cards they had at all of the Circuit Cities near me?  Zero.  I think enterprising readers figured this out from reading their blogs on Friday, went out and bought the cards and then just went back to the store on Sunday to get a price adjustment without ever having any intention of paying full price.


So kudos to those who got it.  Circuit City was dumb enough to offer it, people may as well take advantage...


By the way, this deal was not available online - numerous 360fanboy readers posted stories of frustration after listening to customer service reps tell them they wouldn't process the price adjustment.

I showed up at Circuit City right at 10am on Sunday. They had a single 1600 point card. Fortunately, I needed another 360 wireless controller (which was on sale for $39) and I got the point card for free.\r \r I've been reading posts on-line of how some CCs lowered the price on the 1600 point cards down to $17.99, thereby excluding them from the deal.

Same deal with me. I actually checked saturday and they had no stock at the 3 local ones to me. \r \r I noticed today that circuitcity.com doesn't even list the 1600 point card anymore, they've removed it. It was tehre on Sunday though
