Test

Do you ever feel like you are being pushed to the limit? Maybe that
your prayers are going unanswered or that you think no one is
listening? That things are happening and you don't know why? Well,
maybe your faith is being tested. I know, for a fact, that I have been
tested many times. A lot of times I fail, but try and learn from my
failures. Other times I pass a particular test and God lets me know
it. Sometimes, during my quiet times, I am inclined to look in the
back of my Bible and look in the section called 52 Great Bible
Stories. Well, scanning through them, 2 stories caught my attention.
In the Book of Daniel, there are some folks who get put to the
ultimate test. Daniel 3:1-30 is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and
Abednego. Talk about a test. Worship my godly idol or die?! How would
you have answered? We all know the outcome. They wouldn't bow down and
were thrown into the fire. And a fourth "...heavenly body..." was in
the fiery furnace with them and not one of them was touched by the
flames, nor did they smell of smoke. Who do you suppose that was?
Daniel 6:1-28 is story of Daniel in the lion's den. Do not pray to God
for 30 days, or be cast in the lion's den? What would you have done?
We know the outcome of that story, as well. David prayed and worshiped
and he was cast into the den of lions. Then, God sent angels to shut
the lion's mouths. Only the all powerful God of all Gods could have
delivered these people, and many others, out the grips of pain and
death. One last story. Could any of us have done what God commanded
and tested Abraham to do? Sacrifice his only son. God did and the
world was given hope.

When things look dark and terrible and that there may not be any hope,
look to Jesus and he will deliver you out of even the darkest of
places. You will then pass the test and He will open His arms and wrap
His love around you and tell you "Well done."

When I was a young boy, I prayed to God to give me a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way, so I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.\r -Emo Philips, comedian

good stuff man. \r \r Are things seeming to be a little brighter? I hope so.\r \r I really need to get to God...I've kinda stepped away for a while after alot of crap happened with my girlfriend and a fallout with some friends.\r \r I didn't blame God or anything. Just felt like I didn't wanna ask for help. I felt like if I couldn't do it on my own, it wasn't meant to happen because I don't want God to be a safety word I can tug on anytime trouble happens. If I cant talk to him when things are good...why would i have the right to do it when they are bad.

That is a really tough question to ask yourself. How would I answer if my life depended on it? As I'm sure you know, there have been cases where kids have been asked that question and answered in the affirmative (Do you believe in God?) and lost their lives. Do their parents wish they had answered differently?

Good thoughts Jolly. Thanks for continuing to share.

Jolly - Jesus says in Mark 10:30 we will recieve 100 fold back to us - with persecutions. If you faced a job loss because of your testimony God would take care of your family. Remember He loves them more than you do. But regardless where you are at with your testimony, even when we are faithless, he remains faithful. :)

I've never really thought of who a hero is to me. Odd really, I look more towards what kind of an example I can set as oppossed to who I look up to for inspiration. Don't get me wrong, I agree that hero's can have an awesome place, just for me, I don't know that I really had any... :/ Maybe it is egotistical but I guess I work more off the feeling of what kind of hero can I be for those I affect...? Interesting question to ponder.\r \r Thank you Jolly! :-) Give Megan a 'blblblblblbl' for me!

If you can get the \"forget\" part down pat, its then easy to forgive. It can be tough but we have to move on and not let these things overwhelm us.\r \r Btw, Megans picture always carries me a smile-always!

Marriage takes a lot of work, but honoring that covenant, working at it, and pouring yourself into will reap rewards that you can not fathom. My wife and I have our 10 year anniversary this fall. And while we have had our ups and downs, we have grown so much and I can truly say that my wife is my best friend. (even though she won't play XBOX with me - hehehe)

I was at a wedding once, and the minister said something to the effect of whenever you attend a wedding, you are renewing your love for one another and thereby renewing you vows to each other. I LOVE weddings now more than ever!

I think sometimes people overcomplicate faith. With the faith of a mustard seed you may move mountains.\r \r A simple child-like faith. Simple accpetance.\r \r God exists...this mountain will move...you will be healed...etc..\r \r Keep it simple. As human beings we love to complicate things so we can fix them or prove something to others.
