Seek

Good day to all of you. I have recently finished up with the Book of
Galations and God revealed something to me that was amazing, especially
for new Christians. I have a lot of struggle in my life and some of it
has been with me for a long period of time. I know one reason, but
tend to put it aside while I am working or just living out my daily
life. Here is one reason for my stumbles, I am not CONTINUALLY seeking
the Holy Spirit's presence.

Gal. 5:16-26

16 So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit.
Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The old
sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the
Holy Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite
from what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly
fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this
conflict. 18 But when you are directed by the Holy Spirit, you are no
longer subject to the law.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will
produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts,
eagerness for lustful pleasure, 20 idolatry, participation in demonic
activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger,
selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except
those in your own little group, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties,
and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that
anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this
kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no
conflict with the law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and
desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
25 If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy
Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become
conceited, or irritate one another, or be jealous of one another.

I know that is a lot to read. But, it gets directly to the point,
especially with me. It is very easy for a new believer to fall back
into his/her old ways after becoming a Christian.
I still struggle with this myself. But, if we seek His presence and
stay in the Word, we can overcome the temptations. Example: During my
week off between Christmas and New Year's, I did not have my quiet
time nor did I attend church. I began to feel awful and empty. I felt
dirty and unclean and began to turn away. Thank God for the Holy
Spirit! He hollered at me and said "Wait a minute! You need to get
back in the Bible!" Just like a Father would do His child. He
reprimanded me. And when I got back in the Word, I felt as if I drank
cool, clean water while dying of thirst in the desert. It was very
refreshing. So, in conclusion, for all Christians new and old, we
should strive to seek and remain in His presence. Accept His word and
listen to His guidance. It is a wonderful place to be. Take care and
drive carefully. You are all a blessing to me and my family. Thank
you, again, for your prayers. May God bless all of you and your homes.
