SILENCE

sometimes I can’t turn it off

and she hates it

because it makes me feel

she needs too much attention

but she says she loves it

when I write

I built my love with

that – but

Alone.

I did it all alone

to fulfill the voice

she doesn’t know exists

a sound she’ll not

understand

as I cannot comprehend it

either
