Capturing Video from Console

on my latest endevours i have seen posts for capturing video using capture cards and yadayada yada,

I dont have those options, being a single income family puts a hurting on when and where my money gets put to use.

We recently received a DVD Recorder for xmas, so i wanted to capture vid for a long time, or at least try to see if i could do anything with it.

I ran the Outputs from 360 into a Input on my Recorder, then just recordered everytime I played,... filled up a 6hr disc,...

the latest dilema is how do i get files into Windows movie Maker? my computer would read the Dvd and play it, but I couldnt locate any filetype on the thing that moviemaker recognized,... through a long search on google I found my answer!

DVD's are recorded into 3 filetypes, .bup, .vob, and .ifo(i think). And i found a program that will convert DvD's into WMV format! what a GODSEND!

program = Magic DVD Ripper (Trial program, that kinda sux maybe i can find freeware somewhere)

There are a good deal of DVD ripping (decryption) software available. Checkout VideoHelp.com under 'tools' for lots of useful apps.\r \r Since your DVDs should not be encrypted, you could use the old 'dvd decrypter', or newer 'dvdfab decrypter', or 'ripit4me', or any dvd ripper. Then you look for an encrypter to convert to the format you want (and a guide, if needed). There are also some all-in-one tools, but most cost $s.\r \r
