Business name BOOOO!
I've posted a couple threads about choosing a business name, and today finally decided that "studio603" is the only one I don't hate. I checked a couple sources online and found a photographer on the other side of the state, "Studio Six-O-Three."
I'm torn because I like the name but I don't want to create confusion. Since photography and videography are very similar I don't want my prospective clients calling her for video, and vice versa.
I also noticed that the trade name is not registered in the state of New Hampshire. She's operating independently without a "legitimate" business.
Would it be a mega dick move to register the business name, and then send her a cease and desist letter for infringement of a registered trade name?

why dont you use 603 studio then?
Business is business as LB said. Do it. You can't underestimate the value of IP, especially if your business starts to take off. It'll be easier now than later...
I thought about this and actually gave it some serious consideration. At the end of the day, I don't have it in me to crush somebody like that and I'm not at all a litigious person. I'm still using the name (but as Studio603 Films) and I plan to reach out to her and other photographers and ask for referrals.
