This time of year is especially slow for my industry. No one wants to put any telecom circuits up, as the majority of the circuits had to be up before Black Friday to handle all the transactions and such.

As such, things are pretty slow here.

I'm still working on streaming video to my 360. I've found 2 programs that have possibilities to help with it:

1. Encode360 - Basically transcodes non-.wmv formats into .wmv format. Takes some time, but it does work. Slight loss of quality, but overall still a pretty good picture. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out the audio setting on this yet, so when I transcode it, if the video is in 5.1 Surround, it comes out as basic stereo. So, I have some more tinkering to do. Program is still in Beta, so it is constantly being tweaked.

2. TVersity Media Server - This program shows a lot of upside. Instead of transcoding the existing file into a new file, and then streaming it to the 360, it transcodes on the go. Meaning, it transcodes to .wmv while it is streaming to the 360.

This program is also in Beta, so it will probably keep being refined. I haven't gotten my 360 to recognize it yet, but I'm sure I am not configuring something correctly on my end. I'll get it figured out.

I still need to re-program my Harmony 880 remote. That should be interesting since I'll need to upgrade it with the 360 settings seeing as Microsoft no longer includes a remote with their Premium package. Oh well. :-)
