Found this today!

Always wanted a blog that I could talk about games, I guess this is the place!

Playing a lot of Magic Online lately, with the clan and all. Always liked M:tG (the one game I always beat my brother) and I've played it since 4th Edition (taking a break during Urza Saga and Torment). I'm into MoL since Mirrodin, and never looked back. Sold all my paper cards (some were stolen though =/) and dove into the online card gaming. NOw, after a few years on it, I'm finnaly getting into the whole economics of the community (buy oldies, sell news).

I really want to talk about deck strategies and deckbuilding (my favorite part of the game), but I'm not nearly as good as a pro and really, I don't have the time to dedicate to playing and testing and stuff.

Well, this month, the clan is playing pauper prismatic singleton: you have to have at least 20 cards of each color, at least a 250 card-deck, the cards are all restricted (only one of each) and there can be only commons in. It's really fun (except when the land is gone!) and excited because you never know what kind of card you get. You can draw a back-breaking, game winning 5/6 threat, or you can draw a lousy 1/1 that will die in the next turn. The games are all about resource management, with a lot of luck running. I personally think that you can make some strategy, as putting a lot of removal, or only lox casting cost spells, but mostly people just wait 'til their luyck change, and ditch all their commons in the deck.

A really fun format, where anyone can win and your play ability really isn't all that important.

Next time, I'd like to talk about deck building.
