At the Races

I had a pretty fun weekend. Went to opening night of the horse track on Friday. I didn’t win any money, but I still had a blast. A young guy next to us won on the .10 superfecta. He bet a dime and ended up with $1500. It was pretty cool. I was betting on the trifecta and superfecta most of the night. One time I wanted to bet on a horse to win-place-show, but the teller was new and she screwed it up. I told her to not worry about it and just went with my usual bet. Of course, the horse I picked came in second. Figures. They’re adding on to the track and installing slot machines. I was looking up information on their website and ran across their job postings. There were a few marketing positions open so I decided maybe I would try and put my degree to good use. I’ve gotten too comfortable where I work now and that’s lessened my ambition a bit too much. It’s a decent enough job, but there really isn’t room for any advancement. I really like the casino atmosphere and I don’t mind working weird hours. Who knows, maybe I’ll get some casino experience under my belt, move to Vegas, and get the hell out of the Midwest!
