Almost Done!

Finished up all of the kitchen linoleum last night except for under the stove.  That only leaves the stove, laundry room, and caulking everything.  The overall process has slowed down because the paper that is stuck to the glue on the back of the square tiles is very hard to get off in one piece.  Usually, I have to spend 5-10 minutes per square, just picking little pieces of the paper off with my finger nails.  It's a lesson in patience, of which, I usually don't have much of.

I have quite a bit to do before the carpet gets installed this Friday.  I still have to get the ceramic tile installed in front of one of the new doors, and possibly install new ceramic tile around the fire place.  We haven't finalized our decision on the fire place, but will need to before the carpet is installed.  I'm going to consult one of my friends who installed tile throughout college.

I also have to paint the exterior doors that were installed this past Friday.  I have 7 days to paint them, otherwise the warranty is void on them.  What a pain in the ass.

Once all that is done, and the new carpet has been installed, I then have the following left to do:

1.  Caulk floorboards in living room between floor and floorboard (clear silicone).

2.  Re-cut paint between top of floorboards and the walls.

3.  Touch-up certain spots on the walls that got either marked up or missed in the initial painting.

4.  Paint the trim molding around the new Exterior doors.  (This isn't part of the warranty I beleive.)

And that is just the stuff needing done on the inside!

Owning a house can be such a pain.
