Adventures of the Griswalds
Mother-in-law edition.
Did I ever mention how my NFM is a total clutz?
Well, she is. The day before my wedding, she was trying to hang my wife's dress from the ceiling for some odd reason. She tried this using a chair. Did I mention she was a clutz? Well, she fell and broke her ankle.
About 2 years ago, she somehow sat down on a Brown Recluse spider. Talk about getting bit in the ass! She had issues with that bite for almost 6 months. Maybe not a clutzy move, but a chinese fire-drill none the less.
So anyways, the week before she's supposed to come down to Texas with us, she again, slips off a chair and sprains her ankle really bad. The day before she is supposed to come down, she steps in a hole in her yard with the same ankle... sprained it even worse, if that is possible. Not sure how she didn't break it. So, for the past 3 weeks, I've gotten to know her foot quite well, as it is constantly propped up on our coffee table to elevate it.
So last night, she's making dinner. We are going to have kabobs with veggies and steak and chicken. So, she's busy getting all food on the skewers. Did I mention she's a clutz? Can you guess what happened next?
She stabs herself with one of the skewers. Not just a small puncture though, she stabs herself through-and-through one of her fingers.
Thank god we have a nurse as a neighbor on one side and a Paramedic on the other. Otherwise I would have gotten to spend most of my evening in the ER with her. But, they determined that an ER trip wasn't required, unless it continues to bleed today.
