A long year..

It's been a year since I last blogged & nearly that much time since I've visited the site.

Being active duty Navy has kept me away from everything I care about for almost the entire year..  I've been home now for a couple months but in February, I'm leaving for another 7 back to the southern coast of Pakistan.

So it's tough..  I love my job but at the same time, I've begun to have thoughts about where my life is going.  I'm 30 years old, no wife, no kids & I've pretty much committed myself to my job.  With my upcoming deployment, that just marks another year of being gone..  We'll see.  I've been in for 12 years & as easy as it would be to do the whole 20, I feel like I'm running short on time to build a life for after the Navy.

In happier news, I hope everyone has had an amazing end of the year!  Whether it was Christmas or that Jewish holiday with the candle & spinning top thingy....  here's a CHEERS from me to you.  :)

Take care!

-Jay

There is always time to find a wife. Hell when you are 38, just find a wife that is 28 and all is good!!\r \r Finish out the 20 man. It will be worth it in the long run. Plus with the economy the way it is, you at least have a job that is pretty secure...Focus JASON-SAN!!

Thanks LB. Even though on paper, I know it's the only way to do things, it's good to hear it from someone else. \r \r

I just want to THANK YOU for serving our country. You need to make whatever decision is right for you, but know that whatever that decision, there are many of us so very thankful for all you do.

Have to agree, you're in 12 years man, try and stick it out. BUT if you do decide to get out, maybe go in the Navy Reserves. You can still make rank and get your 20 that way. Plus if you haven't used your GI Bill yet you can go back to school full time (paid), get benefits and your monthly BAH. Not a bad deal, plenty of guys in my unit doing just that.

Glad to see you around man. Good luck on your deployment. We'll be here when you get back, and you've only got a little time left for retirement in the grand scheme of things. Finish that bitch out.
