99 Dollars
That's what Xbox Support told me it would take to fix my Xbox 360...$99. They said it was the video card and therefore not covered under the 3 year RROD warrenty.
With the recent drop in price for the Arcade version, I'm seriously debating not sending it to them and just getting a new one that I can purchase an extended warrenty on. They said that with the repair that I get another year warrenty, but if all they are going to replace is the video card, it's probably not worth it.
Decisions, decision.....
Anyone have an opinion on this?

is your box one with the falcon chip set? If not, then buying a new box with the falcon chip set might be a better deal. That way \"hopefully\" you do not have to worry about the rrod.\r

If your box does have the falcon chipset, then the 99 bucks might not be that bad. It would have you a 100.
Yep, the 3 year warranty only covers the 3 red lights of deal problem. Not the single red like, dvdrom breakage or anything else.\r

Did you send it into them already? If not, you could try and bake it to force rrod.\r

Or you could just go spend $199 on the Arcade, take your HDD off the broken one and there you've got a brand new premium system. \r

Other reasons why going Arcade may be the better choice\r

-New 1 year warranty\r
-Newer Falcon guts\r
-HDMI \r

I'm with Tank too.
I didn't bother with the RMA MS inflicted upon us, and bought the arcade.
I have a launch day 360 that had been flawless, so I'd bet mine doesn't have the falcon chipset.
