2 inches of snow...

And the entire city of portland is shut down. No schools, no work, people abandoning their cars on the freeway. (sadly enough, I'm not kidding) Every school and college in the area is shut down. Shakes went into work since its only snow and he only has a 3 mile commute. He was one of 3 people there. Everyone else in his whole building didn't or couldn't show.
Portland just isn't set up to deal with snow. We have no plows, and only a few sanding trucks. The news has been on since 7 this morning covering the "winter storm alert!" No commercials or anything just non-stop news coverage. *insert eyeroll* Want a good laugh? check out KATU.com and see how many idiots are out there driving around causing accidents.
My kids are in heaven though. This is the first time my 2 year old has been in snow. He already figured out that its fun to eat lol. My 5 year old has mastered the art of the snowball and nailed the neighbor girl in the face, and my 3 year old daughter has been making snow angles all morning.
I love days like this, but that is probably because I went grocery shopping last night, and I have no where to go.
Shakes is downstairs starting a fire in the fireplace and the kids are warming up in my bed and watching cartoons. Hot coco is on the stove, and I think I will make cookies later. (yes lotus, you will finally get your cookies.)
