Well, I went perfect in my picks over the weekend in the NFL. Unfortunately, so did 2 others. And, all 3 of us have picked the same team to win tonight.

On top of that, 2 of us have the same number for our tie-breaker. Talk about unusual. The best I can hope for is to split the pot. One can only hope I guess.

In other news, the home improvement train keeps on chugging along. We had planned to buy storm doors for out 2 back doors, as they leak when it rains. This is one of the reasons we are getting new carpet is because of the leakage. When it rains, it hits directly on those doors and no matter what we have tried, we can't get them sealed.

So, we went in with the intention f buying new storm doors. Home Depot came out to measure the doors, and came back and said that they could install the new doors, but wouldn't warranty them unless we replaced the exterior doors.

All that leakage has started rotting the wood on the jams holding the door in place. If you don't know about rot, it's as bad as termites. If you don't nip it in the bud, it just keeps spreading.

So, instead of getting 2 new storm doors installed for about $500, we are getting 2 new exterior doors as well as the jams and brick molding replaced around those doors. We are also getting 1 storm door for the door that faces the rains the most. Got a deal on that. $260 door, but it was on clearance, so we got it for $130. So, we are plunking down $1200 now for doors.

But, it's gotta be done. If we don't do it now, it will have to be done later, and it could be worse later and cost more. Sometimes owning a house just plain sucks.
