Star Blog #50

Been slowing down with the blogs lately - oops :) aww well. Actually played a lot of SC2 in the last 3 days. Lots of 3v3, 4v4, 2v2 games and about 20 1v1's on my ladder. Had quite a few losses in 1v1 - I think most of the time it is me leaving my pre-game plan and just "winging it" coupled with some really bad mid / late game scouting and a lack of early harrass / attacks on my part. Anyway I think I'm about a 65% win rate in those 20 games. One thing that really helped me was playing against the AI for ~games before hitting the ladder. It helps get my hands and mind warmed up. Also playing the AI on Very Hard shows you the power of an early (6 - 7 minute) push and how powerful it can be - the AI usually beats me down pretty good at the 6 or 7 mark and if I survive then I'm usually in catch up mode until the next wave hits me around the 12 minute mark....usually I die lol

Found the absolute best stream yesterday just by chance. I'm always looking for Protoss streamers and although I've never heard of this guy very much I thought I'd check him out. EG Axslav is just an awesome streamer. He tells you his thought process the ENTIRE time he is streaming. This is great pro-level insider knowledge being spewed out for hours on end. So helpful in figure out WTF you just scouted (what is the other guy doing if gets 2 early gas and what can you expect) and his crisis managment is just top notch. I think I probably thought he was dead 100 times yesterday (he loves to go Nexus first so he usually has very limited army at the beginning of the game) but he is so calm and shows some great micro management in the face of a situation where he surely looks to be dead.
