Quasi Outland review

I have returned from the deep recesses of what is referred to as "Real Life", to give a gem to the 2o2p world. And that... is an Outland review.

What is it about, you may or may not ask? Well, its about a guy in the forest fighting for some reason. His ancestors maybe? Yeah, lets go with that. Not my fault my game inducing ADD refused to follow some dude reading text out to me.

Somewhere along the way, you harness the powers of RED and BLUE (RoosterTeeth- I smell a lawsuit!). The creatures along the way happen to be... either RED or BLUE! What a coincidence! That's pure genius there. They could have made them GREEN or even ORANGE, but noooooo they did something right allowing your skills to manipulate the environment and foes alike.

Now don't mistaken my lack of what is happening in this game as dislike. I actually really enjoy this game. The movement of the character reminds me for some odd reason as the hero of Impossible Mission for the Commodore 64. In that game, you would flip around an office building looking for.... stuff. When you touched anything... even a houseplant, you would vaporize. There was this elevator that made an odd whirring sound. But what I remember the most was the voice of the "narrator" which was very creepy, especially since not many games for C64 actually had voice in them.

Well I digress. Outland really is a fun game. Throughout the game, you pick up abilities quite like most games of its kind. TheBuy help you get to areas unable to be explored as well as new attacks against your foes. I've only fought one boss fight, but it was pretty damn cool. So far it hasn't been too tough. It hasn't made me want to turn my controller into an object of death to those around me. That doesn't mean I haven't died... a LOT!

I don't necessarily believe in rating in the traditional sense of the word, so I'll give it the rating of a rabid Albatross. But seriously, I wouldn't consider it a must buy, but if you have a few bucks lying around and you want to play a good game, definitely pick it up.

I didn't go to school here, but live a few blocks away from RHS. Went to high school in Bedford County and college at JMU. I've had some fun with the Tech fans at work haha.
