Thought I would share

It has been a long time since I've blogged.  I've never left, just trolled and watched as new people dropped by.  Some stayed and some didn't.  Then there are those who keep on ticking and entertain me with bits and pieces of their lives.  Here's mine..

Some may or may not know, remember (or care) that my father ( and Soup's) passed away last year at the end of June.  Life moved on, as it always does. Mom is doing well.  She travels to visit all three of us and our families a couple time during the year for birthdays and holidays and we visit her when our busy lives allow.  Well, this past weekend was my turn for a visit.  It was also coincided with a horse show.  That was her intention, to watch me compete.  The days were long and very warm, but she patiently sat waiting for my division at the end of the day.  Before I would saddle up, I would sit with her and we had a chance to chat and I let her know how much I appreciated the fact that she was willing to sit and wait for me to ride.  I know it can be tedious.  She would just look at me as if to say, "I wouldn't miss this for the world."  She has done this before when I had a two day event and was prepping to ride or cooling a horse off, she would just walk around with me and help where she could.

I am constantly reminded of a parent's desire to spend time with there children even though it may mean you aren't interacting with them one on one.  Just being there.  There is a young girl who rides at the same stable I do and her father is taking lessons with her, just to spend time with her.  He isn't just dropping her off, but actually learning to ride and jump.  I thought that was fantastic. I hope when she is older that she truly appreciates those moments.  I want to tell him "thank you" for her.

Anyway, I just wanted to share.
