We had a fantastic time playing with the guys and gals over at PMS/H20 and put together a small highlight video from our stream. Check out the action from last weeks Battlefield 3 playdate. We can't wait for another one!
One of our Halo Division leaders, Deep NNN, got the chance to hightlight his long running Over Age 40 Halo: Reach Monthly Tournament with the new guard over at 343 Industries. Check out the article below!

PAX East 2012 is just around the corner, and if you're looking for a great way to start off the weekend, 2old2play has the perfect suggestion for you...
It’s been a really long road for me and I’m sure you all as well. I started work on Version 3 more than 2 years ago and after scrapping 2 versions, dealing with crappy programmers, and spending a ton of cash we finally arrived at a workable beta.
The call was answered! Learn who picked up their swords and came running once the 2o2p Call to Arms resounded through the land. Last month, I posted a Call to Arms for 2o2p Content Writers. Not only did some long time members apply for this lucrative, high-profile job, but this also brought in a few new members to the site.
With the launch of V3 coming “soon” and the post-holiday game release hiatus coming to a close, this is the perfect time for us to finally ramp up our site content with more game reviews, more gaming news and more older gamer awesomeness. Read on to learn how you can help!
Do you bore your family and friends with talk of video game plots, characters or graphics? Do you often forget special dates related to your significant other but can remember the exact date/year the first Halo game released? Are you tired of seeing the front page of the 2old2play website covered with Dsmooth and Codemonkey’s ugly mugs?
Well, fret no longer, for 2o2p has a job for you! Ok, so it’s not really a job in the sense that that you get paid, unless you consider the undying affection and appreciation of your 2o2p community. Yeah, I didn’t think so. Read on if you’re still interested anyway.
If you meet the basic qualifications and would like to further pursue this wondrous opportunity, send me an email via tiffany(at)2old2play.com by February 1, 2012.

It’s the FIRST annual Gamers Get Into The Ghoul pumpkin carving contest. Hosted by Kona’s Korner, 2Old2Play and EVGA it’s time to sharpen those knives and get creative gamers. So hit up your local pun’kin patch and celebrate your native gourd in all it’s glory by stabbing it into a gaming frenzy.

Your imagination is the limit, as long as it ties into gaming. Feel free to do a Pink pun’kin too, I mean, I am a gamer it’s allowed (plus I’ll get all mushy inside). Send your photo’s to me Pink@konaskorner.com and I will share them with the world.
Oh shit, you only care about the prizes, my bad. The contest is open now until midnight Halloween (That’s Oct 31st for those of you going to check a calendar). Along with honorable mentions for runner up and second place receiving various goodies to include Grip iTs, Lanyards and T’s .. but no one cares about losing, we are gamers after all and the objective is to WIN!
FIRST PLACE grabs the GAME of their choice on the platform of their choice (PC, Xbox, PSN heck even the Wii if you are so inclined) Now get to shanking, gutting and gore!
So with the switch to V3 coming along we have been talking about the ways people get involved with 2o2p, join clans, meet people etc. One of the things we noticed was how hard it is for someone to really get involved with the community and how often that person just leaves after a day or so on the site.
This is mostly due to the fact that new people have the impossible task of breaking into an already insular clan and meeting completely new people that probably don't want some new guy crashing their party. As such one of the only ways to get into the site is through hanging around the main forums or knowing someone already on the site in another clan. We tried for the longest time to figure out ways of bridging this gap but it was pointless without making drastic changes to how clans operate.
Instead, we have decided to keep clans just as they are, but instead change the way people hook up with 2o2p. Starting at the launch of V3, 2old2play will go into invite only mode and new members will have to be invited by "good standing" members of 2o2p in order to participate actively in our community. We will also offer motivated new members an opportunity to sign up via peer review in order to streamline the process of getting new people hooked up with the right clans.
As an example, a completely new member could request to join 2o2p by giving us a little background on what games they play, what style of player they are, and what type of clan they're looking for. From there we can use our (already in place) welcome wagon to direct that person to a clan or leader that might be able to help. This will be a very limited amount of people but in the end should produce quality over quantity while helping to grow already existing clans with new members directly.
Invites will be given to members based on standing within the community so any new person invited will be automatically tagged with the person who invited them. This not only helps show off your recruiting powers, but allows a small bit of accountability to filter in when new people are linked with an older member. Members will be able to see who invited who and how many invites they have sent out. We will probably limit these invites in someway in order to kill spamming, but it should be fairly open.
Speaking of spam, this was another reason we decided to go invite only. Spam would basically die off completely. The remaining spam accounts that are laying dormant on the site would be caught fast simply because any invites they send out will be tagged to them. From there we can just take out the entire chain in one swoop without trying to figure out who invited who.
As for the content on 2o2p, nothing will change. Permissions as you see them now remain 100% untouched so people who like to browse the site without a membership can still fully do so. The only real difference here is how people sign up with 2o2p and interact with the community. Oddly enough, when I started 2o2p in 2005 this is really how it worked anyway. People got into the site because of word of mouth or playing with us online and I think that's how it should still be even today. If you have any thoughts on the subject please let me know in my blog comments. Game on!

Want to win a bunch of cool swag and become super famous? Great, all you have to do is name our already kick ass vid cast.
Well dip me in barbecue sauce and call me...
You know what? Just dip me in barbecue sauce- that sounds tasty.
But when you finish doing that, head on over to the Special Contest Forum and throw your hat in the ring to name our official Community vidcast. It's so easy even F1r3 can do it!
We (well I) are tired of trying to remember WTF we call it every time, so if we have an official name it will be much easier. Therefore allowing more time for snacking during the actual recording process.
You can name it whatever you want…BUT…the winning entry should convey the idea of "community." Use anagrams, multiple words, vulgarity (to a point, please do not go too over the top) or numbers. Just be creative, catchy, and try to embody the zeitgeist of our our craptastic vidcast.
You will have 2 weeks to submit your entry, after that, all the submissions will be looked over by 2o2p’s staff and then judged mercilessly. The top 5 entries will then be re-posted, the worthless entries will be publicly ridiculed and the top 5 will be voted on by the community with the top vote-getter earning the honors.
All five finalists will be awarded with a forum sig from our Rad Graphix Crew and doodi is giving away some stuff he doesn't want (or that doesn't fit).
So jump on over to the Contest Forum and enter to win!
Or, cast your vote early.
Or, ridicule the work of others.
Or, ask doodi "whatever happened to the nine people that used to co-host?"
