New Releases: Week of February 21st, 2017

Good morning 2old2play! I would love to be able to tell you that the reason behind this morning's article is that I was up all night playing Halo Wars 2, but that would be a lie. Even though I did pre-order it and get the four days early access I haven't been home. Myself and the family soup were watching my oldest daughter perform in Disneyland this weekend (California Adventure to be exact) and we will be on our way back home to the great white north later today. My girls are all asleep, I have some free hotel wifi and some time so lets get this ball rolling!

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk
Platform:
PC, PS4, Vita
Release Date: February 21st, 2017

Originally released in Japan for PS3/PS4 & Vita this past October, Beserk and the Band of the Hawk is coming to western shores on console and worldwide on PC this week. This action slash game is a mashup of Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors and a manga series title Beserk. if the words "Japanese, action slash, manga" and the image of an all knowing egg bleeding from it's eyes (WTF?!?!?) get your skin a-tingling then I am willing to bet this game is for you!

Halo Wars 2
Platform:
PC, XBox One
Release Date: February 21st, 2017

As you have already read, I pre-ordered Halo Wars 2. I am excited but also really nervous about this game at the same time. I enjoy RTS games and I enjoy the Halo universe so when the first iteration dropped I scooped it up and enjoyed the hell out of it. Since then, my enthusiasm for all things Halo has waned. Halo 5 was a bit of a let down for me and I am really hoping that Halo Wars 2 picks my spirits up.

YS Origin
Platform:
PS4
Release Date: February 21st, 2017

Originaly a PC only title released in Japan back in 2006(worldwide in 2012) Ys Origin is truly the beginning of the story that the other seven Ys games revolved around. I have to be honest here, I really don't get this strategy of constantly re-releasing old games on new consoles. I have fallen for the nostalgia bug a couple times myself and pretty much instantly regretted it. My advice, if you want to play this game get it on Steam for a way better price.
