New Releases: Week of May 11, 2015

Do you want to know what really sucks about release dates? It’s always a lie. The games that were promised to release already aren’t here, and most of the games we do have were rushed out the door so fast that they missed QC completely. Now we have bugs, and a lot of them. What we don’t have is Mad Max. That hardly seems fair. This week, a serial release date liar will have its day on the track, an RPG is “Finally” (see what I did there?) released for current gen consoles, and paper knights battle a steel legion  for PC supremacy.

This HD remastered combo includes the last great Final Fantasy game, as well as the game that took the franchise to Crapville. Here’s your chance to play what the kids were playing...in 2001, but on a fancy new console. Sony folks can start the long walk down Nostalgia Road starting Tuesday.

I’m not sure what this game is supposed to be, but the contrasting art styles are almost criminal. Maybe it’s Art Noveau Noir.

Project CARS

Release Date: May 12

Project CARS has been in development a very long time but will finally be available in the US on Tuesday. Folks in Europe got this one a week early, and its either a huge threat to both Forza and Gran Turismo, or the twitchiest piece of shit ever...depending on who you ask. So, it’s time to update those controllers and lubricate the toy steering wheels because the biggest thing to hit sim racing in a decade is here at last.
