Game Releases: Week of March 19

Here we go, folks! Another week is upon us and this one is flooded with some diversity. We’ve got some mech action, angry birds and ninjas, a mythical hero rises from his slumber, and...... MORE zombies. We may have to dub this year as the year of the zombie.

Seeing as how the apocalypse is soon upon us, it only seems right.
And now.... on to the releases for this week.

ps3 xbox Multiplatform Releases

Armored Core V (PS3, XBOX360) - Return of the 3D mech battle series from a five year hiatus. Also rejoice in 5v5 online team play goodness. Very disappointed there is no ability to fuse all 5 mechs into one monstrous mech... for shame, Armored Core, for shame.

DiRT 3 Complete Edition (PS3, XBOX360) - Re-release of 2011 extreme racing game with all downloadable content included. May be a good buy for those that haven’t bought the original.

Ninja Gaiden 3 (PS3, XBOX360) - Sequel to the action adventure of every one's favorite ninja, Rya Hayabusa! This one features a new director of the series as Ryu travels to London to battle terrorists. If that isn’t enough, the Dragon Sword takes over his body. They must have gotten the director for his realism.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (PS3, XBOX360) - This game takes place between the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. Gamers have the option of playing as either Umbrella Security Services or U.S. Special Operations Force. Includes a 4 player co-op and multiplayer modes. The 360 version has an additional multiplayer mode where you control Nemesis and kill the opposing team. Since this is another zombie game, drop everything and get it.

Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3, XBOX360) - For those that have been following game releases... YES, there was a new Silent Hill game just last week. This week contains remakes of Silent Hill 2 and 3, but in full-blown High Definition!  Unfortunately the original Silent Hill will be left home with blurry 13 year old makeup asking “Daddy, why can’t I be pretty like the others??”

xbox XBOX 360 Releases

Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure: This family friendly Kinect release allows you to control characters from Pixar’s Toy Story, Cars, The Incredibles, Up, and Ratatouille. For those parents that would like to play as a character from Monsters Inc, just hide in your kid’s closet and scare the hell out them. (Disclaimer: pulsaris or 2old2play will not pay for your child’s therapy bills).

steam PC Releases

Total War: Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai - This game is a standalone to the Japanese war game. It includes the events in Japanese history in which the Western influences led to the downfall of the Samurai. This expansion includes completely new factions and countries to play, a new campaign map, as well as a ton of new units and updated multiplayer. Tom Cruise is NOT included and samurais everywhere would rejoice... except they’re all dead.

3ds Nintendo 3DS Releases

Kid Icarus: Uprising - Get it? UPrising? Oh Nintendo, you’re so clever. This series has been in slumber since 1991 and is now back. This time, Pit fights against the evil Medusa.

Let’s Ride: Best of Breed - Here at 2old2play, we neglect no game release. And so I give you this one, where you get to create your very own pony and train them to be your very own steed. It’s in 3D, and I know you loyal pony fanatics will LOVE this one!

Paws and Claws Pampered Pets Resort - Are ponies not enough for ya?? Well in that case, get this one, you get to create your very own pet resort. Participate in mini games as you pamper your favorite fluffy friend. Events include petting, grooming, spa treatments and acupuncture. Seriously. Can’t make this up, folks.

arcade Arcade/DLC Releases

Angry Birds Space (iOS, PC, Mac) - More Angry Birds!!!! This time they take it off the farm to the most reasonable destination... space! This version features 60 new levels, new birds, new powers, and new gameplay using physics of antigravity. Please angry birds, quit letting those pigs take your eggs so I can start doing something good with my life!!!

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning: The Legend of Dead Kel (PSN, XBLA) - In this first expansion, take on a new area, missions and items as you fight against the legendary Pirate Dead Kel.

Rayman 3 HD (PSN, XBLA) - Remake of 2003 platform gaming title, but this time in HD glory! Also includes nine minigames and live leaderboards.

Sine Mora (XBLA) - This side scrolling shoot ‘em up incorporates time manipulation. The time limit of each level constantly changes. Time is gained through killing enemies and time is lost if hit. Time can also be slowed down. There are seven levels with thirteen bosses and four different game modes, including a mode where one can focus on the boss battles that have been unlocked.

Zombie Slayer Diox (3DS eShop) - For those that did not fulfill their need for zombies, how about this one? In this side-scrolling-rhythm-action game, you play as Diox, a rocker with a thirst for killing zombies. He uses his rock tunes to lure the zombies (for we all know that zombies dig rock music), and then he hacks at them with his katana blade. Nothing more needs to be said. Game of the year anyone?

Until next week...happy gaming 2old2play!
