PS3: A Gadget You Shouldn't Buy?

Smart Money Magazine says the PS3 is #2 on the list of gadgets to avoid... The PlayStation 3 is now a gadget? Well, that's still up for debate, however, Smart Money Magazine says to avoid this product because:
"Specifically, there are a limited number of new games available and the system carries a steep price tag. Currently, there are only 32 new PS3 games for sale at Sonystyle.com: Six of them are ready for delivery, 13 are on backorder, and 13 can be pre-ordered for when they are finally released. (Many release dates for new titles keep getting pushed back.)"
It's hard to argue with the truth. The console has minimal games and not everyone has the same taste so only one or two games might be "your game." So, why foot the bill for USD $600 for a game-less product? You don't. Proof? Look at the dust gathering on PlayStation 3 products in the stores.

One might ask "what about the Nintendo Wii?" It had a huge launch title lineup giving games a selection of titles to play. Not every gamer will play them all but one or two games can be found to every gamers liking.

We think the Wii's North American success is partially based on the success of Wii Sports, bundled for free with the product. You can take home a console without purchasing a game and still be satisfied with your purchase. You cannot really complain about the quality of Wii Sports given its free price tag, and the game was a great product demo for the Wii controller.

Sony needs to think about bundling the PS3 with a good game, no?
