Halo 3 recently published their release target of Sept. 25th, 2007 while GTA IV holds strong for an Oct. 16th, 2007 date. Would you, as a publisher, want to release in the shadow of Halo 3?
The GTA IV "special edition" will cost us USD $89.99 and the Halo 3 uberspecial edition is going to cost you USD $129.99. If you do the math, special edition fans may choose one title over the other - which would you choose?
reports are talking about a GTA IV two-week delay to make up for the Halo 3 madness. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Prachter said:
"We believe that a two-week delay would provide a reasonable gap between the launch of Halo 3 and the launch of GTA IV, and would actually help sales of both games," he said.
