While everyone scrambled to hear about Burning Crusade, the next expansion to World of Warcraft many wonder "what else?"
Not everyone is an MMORPG fan and, believe it or not, Blizzard was known for other hit games in the past that didn't hold a "WarCraft" name. For instance, what of StarCraft? And does anyone remember StarCraft: Ghost?
Well, Sams told IGN that his favorite game of all time is StarCraft and that there was "no doubt" that Blizzard will carry on the StarCraft legacy along with the Diablo gaming franchise.
No doubt? But no confirmed information about a fabled StarCraft 2 either. Sams was nice enough to mention that Blizzard will be making a "major product announcement in 2007." Could that spell product release for Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2.
Sams also made it clear that he does not want to see Blizzard as a company that builds MMO's, but a company that builds great games. What of StarCraft: Ghost - indefinate hold.
Sams also mentioned that Microsoft has paid some visits to the Blizzard team to talk about the Xbox 360 and Vista. Not surprising there - Blizzard is interested in the tools that Microsoft provides such as DirectX 10 and such. However, Blizzard remainds adament that Battle.net is the service that ranks supreme... no Xbox Live for them?
