I agree with the core argument codemonkey has where core gameplay trumps all. The problem with that argument is that at least in north america, we're a superficial people where cosmetic appearances are preferable not online in people but in games. It's gotta look good to want to you get in there and play (or chat up that hot chick). Now once you get to know the good looking game or chick, it's very possible that you're going to find out the game / chick is ugly 'inside' and not be interested in it anymore.

Where as the old shitty looking games are like the fat unattractive chick that no one wants to talk to. Now if you fired up such a game, probably you'd find out that the gameplay is fun and enjoyable and at some point you could excuse it's cosmetic appearance because it's hawt on the 'inside'.

Anyway, what i'm saying is ya gameplay matters but if the game looks like shit, people aren't gonna take the time to get to know the ugly game.

Code & Smooth - What are your thoughts about the 360's points system for your gamer score? Do you really think they should stick to either multiples of 5 or 10? Do we really need games that can only give you say 1 to 4 points?
