You poor Android virgins.  Yes the app is on the Play Store. I downloaded and rated it using my Merryman persona. Can you login to your 2o2p account and post on the forums using it?

What about Harmonix getting Amplitude funded through Kickstarter? Kind of leaves a bad taste. Whats next, Microsoft funding Windows 9 on Kickstarter?

Totally disagree with you guys about the Kinect-less XBox One--they should have offered this from the start. They probably would have out-sold the PS4 as well if they had offered a model for that same $400 price point. Had I been given the choice on day 1, I would have saved $100 and skipped the Kinect.  I never had a Kinect on the 360 and the only things I ever use it for on the Xbox One are "Xbox On", "Xbox Turn off" and "Xbox Watch TV" and even those don't work that great and I usually find myself yelling at the television. Totally not worth an extra $100 for me--especially since they still haven't fixed the issue of not offering discrete TV/receiver power on/power off command settings.

One other thing you guys should all consider about Kinect, is that it doesnt function in a lot of territories. For example in Ireland it isnt even optimised for voice recognition so this function is disabled. I have to set my location to UK for voice commands to work. If I want to download a game or something I have to reset my location to Ireland again.  Again in Ireland there is NO TV INTEGRATION yet.  I'm sure Microsoft will work through each territory with us at the bottom of the list.  I guess were "lucky" we were one of the 13 launch countries.  This lack of functionality wasnt communicated from Microsoft and if it wasnt for the power of the Google search I would have thought my One was broken.

Just another thing to consider when looking at the "big picture".

I will agree that Kinect, historically, has not proven itself as a capable controller for games, but I think it is vital to the core functionality of the XB1. Not only does the Kinect allow me to turn my console on and off, which is pretty fucking cool, but also provides instant access to the game DVR, apps, and settings that can be buried under the shitty XB1 interface. How will these Kinect-less "I saved $100" guys record time-sensitive replays? I say "Xbox record that" and instantly have a 30 second clip...it's going to take at least 30 seconds to get to the DVR resulting in the player manually recording a longer video and trimming off the part where they are navigating menus, or losing 30 seconds of a longer video. Saying "snap game DVR" gets me there almost instantaneously. Will those going the cheap route be able to narrate their game clips or Twitch streams directly from the console? I saved money by not having to buy a new headset. Why would I need a new headset when I have a perfectly functional Kinect microphone? I can make video fucking phone calls from my Xbox. I, personally, wouldn't even consider buying the new console without the Kinect: I think it's that important. If folks are going the cheap route and only using the XB1 to play games and watch YouTube videos, then stick with the 360 and save the remaining $400 for a rocking chair and a big bottle of Geritol...you're already too old to play.

1. Stop hating on android Nolan. And not everyone with an Android phone hates Apple. I have an iPod and like it just fine but I prefer my Samsung to the iPhone. 2. I hate, I repeat hate, the Kinect. Voice commands don't always work for me, and I am able to do things much faster with my controller. Microsoft is never going to do anything with Kinect that I can't live without. 3. LAN party...GET ON IT! QA DIVA
