Forza 6 has gone gold. Look for playable demo on Sept. 1.

http://www.forzamotorsport.net/en-us/news/fm6_gone_gold

The latest mile marker on the road to Forza Motorsport 6’s launch has arrived: We’ve gone gold! In two weeks, Forza Motorsport 6 will be available to play via early access for owners of the Ultimate Edition. Five days later, Forza 6 will be unleashed to everyone! Before the full game launches, however, fans will have the chance to experience the thrills of Forza Motorsport 6 in the official free demo for the game, which launches on September 1.

The Forza Motorsport 6 demo will let players experience the most beautiful and comprehensive racing game of this generation, named “Best Racing Game” and “Best Simulation Game” of gamescom 2015. The demo features a selection of the 450+ Forzavista cars available in the full version, all with working cockpits and full damage. You’ll experience highlights from the game’s 26 world-famous locales, including wet weather and night racing, all at a stunning 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.

Everyone who plays the Forza Motorsport 6 demo will automatically get the new Ford GT delivered to their garage in Forza Motorsport 6 for no additional cost. In addition, the demo will include additional features that allow fans to get even deeper into the Forza Motorsport 6 experience. Look for more details on that when the demo launches on September 1.

We’re celebrating all of this Forza news with some new details on the game, including the announcement of a number of previously unannounced cars in Forza Motorsport 6, as well as full details on all the tracks in the game. Read on for all the details!

Brand New Cars Led by the awesome power of the 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT S, these ten newly announced cars bring the total car count to Forza Motorsport 6 to 460 cars in the standard edition, the largest number of cars ever seen at the launch of a Forza game! Here’s the list:

2015 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S When you first think of Mercedes-Benz, you may be drawn to the lavish luxury the brand is renowned for. But with the company’s recent dominance in Formula One (F1) – where its “Silver Arrows” are poised to capture a second Constructors’ Championship in a row – it’s clear Mercedes can do performance too. But what about both? Mercedes’ new AMG GT S balances the two disciplines, with equal doses of F1-like speed and la-z-boy luxury. Under the AMG GT S’s sleek hood sits a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing more than 500 horsepower. That’s enough boosted motor to pull competitive laps at any racetrack and hit 193 mph flat out, complimented by a leather-lined interior befit for autobahn blasts. Bordering on supercar, but still competing with other top models from Germany, the AMG GT S is exactly what you’d expect from Mercedes: the pinnacle of performance and luxury.

The rest of the cars we’re revealing today:

  • 1979 BMW #6 BMW Motorsport M1 Procar
  • 2015 Volvo S60 Polestar
  • 2014 Audi #45 Flying Lizard Motorsports R8 LMS ultra
  • 2014 BMW #5 Ebay Motors 125i M Sport
  • 2014 Chevrolet #3 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R
  • 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT
  • 1976 Lotus #5 Team Lotus 77
  • 1969 Lola #10 Simoniz Special T163
  • 2014 Ferrari California T

Track Details Forza Motorsport 6 will feature 26 locales and more than 100 ribbons total, including brand new locations like Brands Hatch, Daytona Motor Speedway, Monza, and more. Tracks in Forza 6 include a mix of real-world circuits and fictional tracks based on real locations. Each of the real racing circuits in the game has been carefully chosen because of its stature on the world stage of motorsport, as well as its fun and challenge. In addition, we have brand new tracks like Rio, which have been created specifically to create a one-of-a-kind driving experience for the player, full of stunning beauty and excitement.   Forza Motorsport 6 is taking its track lineup to the next level with its stunning night and rain racing and the team at Turn 10 has worked incredibly hard to bring racing in the rain and racing at night to life on Xbox One in a way no other game has. Let’s take a look at the full track list in Forza 6, and how you’ll experience them in a brand new way. First up, here’s the full list of all 26 environments in the game:

  • Autodromo Nazionale Monza
  • Circuit of the Americas
  • Hockenheimring
  • Sonoma Raceway
  • Watkins Glen
  • Brands Hatch
  • Bernese Alps
  • Circuit de Catalunya
  • Circuit de Spa Francorchamps
  • Daytona International Speedway
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe
  • Lime Rock Park
  • Long Beach
  • Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
  • Mount Panorama Circuit (Bathurst)
  • Nürburgring
  • Prague
  • Rio
  • Road America
  • Road Atlanta
  • Sebring International Raceway
  • Silverstone
  • Test Track
  • Top Gear
  • Yas Marina

Racing in the Rain No matter how fast you think you are, the rain will humble you. There’s a reason they call rain “the great equalizer” – it’s enough to bring even the greatest racers down to earth. It’s where the smallest errors are magnified a hundredfold, and where the greatest risks can be the difference between victory and an embarrassing spin.

With Forza Motorsport 6, we’ve brought rain to life; simulating the experience of not just how rain looks and sounds but, most importantly, how it feels. Fully modeled 3D puddles lurk on wet-weather tracks, waiting to pounce on your car like hungry sea monsters. Get an apex wrong or dip a tire in the water, and you’ll feel the puddle pulling your car deeper into the wet.

Perhaps the most challenging aspect of racing in the rain is relearning the course. After all, your racing line changes in wet weather – where once there was an apex, there might be a puddle, and you’ll need to react and relearn your racing line in order to find the fastest (and safest) way around the track.

Each of the wet-weather tracks in Forza Motorsport 6 have been selected because of their close ties to rain racing. Whether its U.K.-based circuits like Brands Hatch or Silverstone, or famous endurance racing tracks like Spa or the Nürburgring (the latter of which features more than 500 accurately placed puddles!), these locations will test your mastery of the car, the weather, and yourself:

  • Brands Hatch
  • Circuit de Spa Francorchamps
  • Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe
  • Nürburgring
  • Sebring International Raceway
  • Silverstone
  • Additionally, the Top Gear Track will feature wet conditions.

Racing at Night Racing makes demands of the driver in an entirely different way. Call it bravery, chutzpah, or sheer will , driving at ludicrous speeds when all you have to guide you are a pair of headlights and, if you’re lucky, the brake lights of the cars ahead, requires race drivers to go above and beyond what is already expected of them.

The same is true in Forza Motorsport 6. Whether you are careening down the back straight at Le Mans or navigating tight traffic on Daytona, night racing in Forza Motorsport 6 requires you to use your driving skills in new ways. We’ve taken inspiration from different variations of night, too. After all, racing under the neon lights of the Viceroy Hotel at Yas Marina is a very different experience from battling it out in the darkest depths of Sebring. With reduced grip thanks to the cooler track temperatures, you’ll experience a unique challenge in each of the night-racing tracks in Forza 6:

  • Circuit de Spa Franchorchamps
  • Daytona International Speedway
  • Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe
  • Nürburgring
  • Plus, Sebring International Raceway, and Yas Marina will be available to race at night.

Your first taste of Forza Motorsport 6 is coming on September 1 with the arrival of the demo. Look for more information on Forza Motorsport 6 later this week!

I downloaded and played the Forza 6 demo this morning.  It is one of the best demos I have ever played, racing or non-racing game.  The demo starts with a race in the 2017 Ford GT at Rio.  All assists are forced on and so its not much of a race.  After that, the demo has a 3 race qualifying series.  There is a selection of around 6 cars, including a Subaru Imprezza, Mazda MX-7 and a Honda S2000.  I picked the Subaru.  I also switched off most of the assists.  The first race is at Lime Rock in the day.  The second race is at Yas Marina at night and the final race is at Sebring in the rain.  The demo also gives you an option to sample a "showcase event", which is the IndyCar at Indy oval.  Once you finish these races, the demo finishes and it apparently unlocks the ability to replay the demo but also do some sort of rivals racing.  I had to go to work at this point and so I was not able to race any further.

Overall, the game looks very sharp graphically.  The FPS seems to be solid at 60 FPS.  I did not notice any stuttering, nor did I notice any slowdown with a bunch of traffic.  There is a noticeable amount of aliasing, but its not as pronounced as Forza 5.  The cars look amazing, both the exterior views as well as the cockpits.  The rain drops look very realistic, as does the wet track surface and the puddles.

The FFB and physics are quite good.  I was getting plenty of oomth with my TX wheel and I definitely was getting plenty of feeling through the wheel as far as what the car was doing.  Turn 10 has apparently added a fair amount of center spring to the FFB compared to Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2.  I could feel every curb and rough track surface.

The AI seems more tame compared to the crazy drivatars in Forza 5.  I played at the Pro skill level.  I blew past them as Indy, I definitely need to up the difficulty for that race.  In the other races the AI would catch me if I made a mistake while in the lead.

If you have an Xbox One, you should definitely try out the demo.  Its good fun and has confirmed that Forza 6 is going to be an amazing racing game.  September 10 cannot arrive soon enough for me.

Hello everyone I just tried F6 , I must say I was impressed with the demo . I did try it with a controller so can't really say anything about FFB or road feel until i finish building my new sim rig . The one i've been using since F4 has  a bit to many screw holes . Time for a fresh start. Should be done by the time F6 comes out. Until then will give a few more attempts with the controller. So far I like.

Tried the demo tonight with my TX wheel. It looks really good. The FFB was pretty good too. It was a bit strong so I turned it down quite a bit. Lawyer is right about the center spring. It felt much stronger. There also looked to be several FFB options to tweak. I didn't get it feeling just right for my tastes but it seems like it won't take mush to do that. I will try some more tomorrow for sure. I ended up pre-ordering and will be able to race on the tenth. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe a few of us can get together on-line and race when it's released? I know I'll be on all day (off and on). It's been a while, I know, hope all of you are doing well. I hope Gizzie is right and FM6 gets us racing together again. -Snappy (XBL Gamertag = Gentleman Racer)

Sadly by CSW V2 with the xb1 universal hub wheel does not seem to work with the demo yet it works just fine with FH2.

Played with my TX wheel and I came away with the same feelings as everyone else. The wheel felt great, With all the assists on during the first race kinda sucked but I got a chance to look at the enviroment and it looked great. I think they did a good job with the night racing but came away like they could have done better with the rain. Maybe its Pcars has me spoiled but hitting a little puddle and going out of control seemed a little much. If they can turn that down a little it would be great. But dodging water reminds me of Project Gotham Racing where cars would bottle neck around puddles and it was no fun..Also I think the "mods" is a little cheesy. Dont see the point in it...I will be playing on the 10th regardless.

I only bought the deluxe version thinking it came with the season pass, Now I have to wait until the 15th. Wish I could upgrade it.

I have to retry the demo. I quit the race after the Ford GT because it didn't save my settings and it was going to make me redo the whole video again. Going to try again tonight.

Inside Sim Racing has posted the first two hours of career mode.  The user interface looks a lot cleaner and easier to use than FM5.  They've added the manufacturer level back into the car selection.

Perhaps one of you fine gentlemen can help a Parcells out here?

My initial impression of the XOne is it sucks big time. When I first start it up I got drilled with extra personal questions that made me a bit uncomfortable I'll admit but no matter what I did it wouldn't allow me to log in with my 360 gamertag/email. So I proceeded to log in with a different email and now it seems I can't change my profille on my Xone to "Parcells2" what the hey???

I don't ever recall having an official "Microsoft account" before tonight which it seems I have under my new gamertag (some ridiculous default name#) before logging into the XOne not long ago

I am enjoying the rivals part of the demo. I am already bored of the main part with the intro and 3 race qualifying. The demo is great but the main game is going to have a ton of content that I want to play NOW! Thursday cannot get here soon enough!!!!!!

Hoochimama!

Downloading the demo as I type under my correct gamertag. That may have been only the second time ever I received great support from Microsoft. Waited only 2 minutes for a real person and within 12 minutes had everything fixed and that included the pleasantries, verification of who I am and in the end I also forgot my Parcells2 password so that added a minute or so. Was particularly nervous because just before I started up the XOne for the first time I logged into the 360 and renewed my Gold subscription.

Of course if the XOne was a bit more intuitive I wouldn't have had to call them. Turned out the FM6 demo was harder to find than how to add a new user to the console which is basically all I did to fix everything. Parcells may be old school and I'll refrain (for now) going into a whiny tirade about all the advancements we've made but I sure miss the good ole days when instructions came with electronic purchases as well as games. The Fanatec V2 base, XOne universal hub & XBox One all came with connection diagrams but zero instructions.

Anyway also picked up a copy of Horizon 2 yesterday, can't let Grimm have all the fun on his new console/wheel now can we? smiley

Demo was fine but meh, its a demo. Haven't tried any of the rivals yet but will. Not fair to criticize a demo and the rain effects were amazing but for simulation racing do you really think you'd be racing with that much standing water on the track? I think not but the hydroplaning was pretty cool.

Doesn't matter Parcells saw enough to step up to the ultimate edition for the extra goodies cause this game should be awesome. But if when on-line racing the participants can't go out on the track while the host waits to start the race then not awesome (personal grudge)

Cause what I saw was how awesome Horizon 2 is so FM6 has to be at least this good but even better cause its focused more on real racing. Horizon was just so beautiful, the cars look fantastic (only game I use cockpit view), feel awesome with the new wheel and Parcells loves the "fun" aspect of this game especially just driving around aimlessly in cars I like to drive which is where I ended up last night.

When I could finally purchase a car I browsed through the entire car list and wouldn't you know the car I really wanted to drive was the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C but of course that is DLC so screw that for a year old game right? Not necessarily it looks so much like a Lotus Exige I just have to drive that car but am hesitant cause none of the FREE DLC cars I downloaded last night (and there were plenty) have appeared in my game yet and I just re-checked this morning.

But then I also checked and to no surprise (as I drove this car all the time in H1) the Exige is also in the game so I'll be purchasing and driving that car throughout France later today can you believe it? Supposde I don;t need the Romeo now but still like to have all those free DLC cars. Will have to google installing DLC cars into H2 in a moment.

Game is awesome BUT boy do I hate those "cross country" races and fear I'll have to do many more to advance my career if that ever becomes a concern for me which it won't but still they suck so bad I haven't a clue where I'm going it's fucken stupid!!! Serenity now. Was so pissed off with the one race I did at least I now know to turn down the AI to weaklings and engage rewind cause I ain't going through that torture again...reset that race 7-8 times cause I kept screwing up between 80-95% complete, how frustrating.

Used my universal instruction manual (aka Google) to figure out how to get those free DLC cars into the game, yeah that's real intuitive doing the same thing twice you pricks. I won't go into a whiny tirade about the lack of manuals but please pretend that I did. Thank you.

The fancy XBox knob on the Universal hub is touchy to use, frequently end up on the dashboard. Then there was the time it slipped and I thought I was joining an innocent road trip but that ended up being on-line with a bunch of people I didn't know in a 4 part race I had zero interest in participating in.

Didn't figure out I was in this 4 race on-line series until race 2 so spent the next 2 races trying to figure out how to quit out of this (instruction manual could have helped here) but of course that didn't happen. So I decide to partake in the last race and wouldn't you know its a fucken cross country race that I despise.

Serenity now.

Wasn't happy with the cockpit view or the acceleration of the Exige so switched to the Clio for my touring activities. Visited a lot of the country side including a 19 km run from the top right end of the Freeway down into Nice...what a riot!!!

On a more serious note what do you guys know about pre-ordering the Ultimate edition??

I'll call EB Games tomorrow but their on-line site looks like only their hard copy flavor of the disc (with their specific bonuses) that I already pre-ordered is available...certainly no mention of ultimate edition.

So I'm figuring that the only way to get the ultimate is to pre-order directly from the MS store...started that process and it looks like to do this you need to register a credit card with your MS Account...something I'd prefer not to do.

So curious if direct purchase from MS is necessary? & is it a MUST to register a credit card to pre-order directly? Maybe I can load up my Account balance via pre-paid cards like I've been doing forever.

Also, what is the US purchase amount for the ultimate edition? Mine converted to ~$125.00 US which is probably accurate or close but what seemed odd is when I hit the link "convert to your currency" it quoted me ~81#'s (British) instead Can or US...just seemed weird.

What one Canadian can do another Canadian can do. Downloading the game now!

My # vs. $ issue was simply the web page region setting and via chat with MS support they confirmed I can remove my credit card from my Account which was my other main concern.

Giddy up!
