People suck.

I started this as a comment on cmoth's blog, but the comment took on a life of its own. In short, I was interested by the idea that too many people turn a minor inconvenience into a major headache as a result of their expecting the situation to fix itself. When life gives some people lemons, they yell and scream at the lemons until the lemons turn moldy and smell gross and attract fruit flies. Fuck lemonade - just throw the lemons in the garbage and move on.

Caddy update - Repairs

About two weeks ago I blogged about getting a great deal on a 1997 Seville (last entry on this page). It took me a few days to get plates for it, and then get it to my mechanic about 10 miles from my house. He has had the car for over a week now, so today I gave him a call to ask for a quick update.

2 year old movie review - Religulous

This movie has been on my to-watch list for quite some time. It was released in 2008, and by now I'm sure a number of you have seen it. I largely forgot about it for awhile after its initial buzz, and finally got a chance to watch this weekend.

To profit or play?

Earlier tonight, while walking through Target price-shopping the Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Blu-ray, I took a quick stroll through the video games like I always do. Impulsively I grabbed the last Kinect on the shelf. I've been good about avoiding games that I don't have the time to play, so I'm still not quite sure why I instinctively grabbed the Kinect - because it's the newest, latest and greatest piece of video game electronics?

Zombiefied

Maybe I'm just an attention whore, but I've never been the kind of person to go to a Halloween party wearing just a rubber mask. I've always enjoyed the preparation that goes into making my costume - in some cases, I've spent more time making the costume than wearing it.

Medium pimpin'

Remember the movie Face/Off, from the late 1990's? There is one scene early in the film in which Nicholas Cage arrives at the airport before the big John Woo shoot-out. He pulls up in a black 1996 or 1997 Cadillac Seville and looks all bad-ass getting out of the car in slow motion with bad-ass music playing in the background. I have always loved that car.
