Just Cause 2

Just a quick video of "Just Cause 2" for the PS3. I didn't even know it had a built in video capture feature. It pretty slick. Just pause the game and select 'start video capture' and keep playing. When your done just pause again and select 'stop capture' and that's it. Then it gives you the option to upload directly to your YouTube account or save to HDD. I think this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.....

beatings, headshots, tethering people to airplanes & cars, driving off of mountains, free-falling into pavement. Oh the possibilities.

BTW, if you haven't checked this game out give it a chance. It's basiclally just another GTA type of game but, it's quite a bit of fun.

and if anyone can tell me how to embed the video like Joker does please tell me. :D

Just a quick photo update of the cabinet. This is after 2 coats of primer. Looking pretty good but, I noticed a few spots that I'm going to fix before I proceed any further.

First of all, let's lay my dirty laundry  right out where everyone can see it. I have a Kool-aid problem. It's almost as bad as my Strawberry Quik addiction but, I don't think anything will ever beat that. Anyway, I haven't touched Kool-aid since...2001. My wife bought some sugar free crap and when I drank it the shit made me sick. So naturally every time I smelled the horrible stuff it turned my stomach. Well recently my daughter grabbed some while my wife was taking her shopping. First of all, God bless my little girl. Second, damnit. As I swirled around a fresh pitcher of red nectar of the Gods I noticed the smell didn't seem to bother me any more. So I decided to give it a try. Now here I sit 24 hours later and about 2 GALLONS of Kool-aid gone. Don't judge me monkey.

So I've been digging around the MAME scene lately and decided to go ahead and download the emulator and run a couple games. OMG! The flashbacks were a-plenty! NARC, NBA JAM, 1943, TimeKillers....It was almost an 'awesome' overload. I'm glad Firefox blocks pop-ups because if i would have seen one small thing about Chuck Norris I would have exploded. But seriously, this small experience has left me wanting to build my own mame cabinet even more. If you haven't ever checked this sort of thing out give it a try. There's also a sweet new interface for MAME cabinets called "Hyperspin". Which basically is a sweet navigation tool for selecting the type of emulator that you want to use and then which game you want to play. It looks slick as hell. There's a nice video demonstrating it over at Hyperspins' website (google it).

Since current video games have been boring me to the point of tears lately, I've been surfing the net aimlessly looking for some sort of new interaction. You know, even the internet gets boring after a while until you run into little gems like these that were posted on YouTube. This guy has put together some great video game mashups. I've watched them over and over and laugh every time. Here's the links:

Mortal Kombat vs Donkey Kong

Contra vs Duck Hunt

Grand Theft Auto vs Frogger

Sonic vs Pacman

Mortal Kombat: Finish Him! LOL!!

Hopefully this weekend I'll get back to the AB cabinet and get some work done so i can post some more pics.

later!

Keeping it short

Tue, 07/13/2010 - 18:48 — Bonecollektor

I want to keep it short tonight because I think I'm going to go play some Gears, Borderlands or Just Cause 2. Haven't decided yet but, something is definitely getting played. Well I have some big news coming hopefully but, I can't share it just yet. Keep those fingers crossed folks!!!!

On another note, I'm putting the first coat of primer on the Altered Beast cabinet this weekend! Sweet.

And on a final note, I'm thinking of dragging out the NES this week to rock some old school shit out. I've really been in the mood to play some original Ninja Gaiden or Metroid etc....So now I'm thinking of building my own MAME cabinet go along with the AB cabinet. Any thoughts?

This is a shot of the repaired side of the cabinet. Notice the new 3" strip along the bottom?

Front view with more sanding

The new custom 1/4" aluminum control panel!!!!

Another shot of the custom control panel

and another

and another

and one more showing the custom made control panel curves

Well that's enough photos for now. I'm almost ready for primer and I've made up my mind that I'm going to do it myself. Heading out to pick up a gravity feed gun this week along with some primer. I figure I'll test paint a few other pieces of wood first and then once I've got the hang of it I'm going to tackle the cabinet.  I'll also be uploading some more new pics tomorrow of the bday party & swing set!
