First of all, if you haven't heard of the new DLC that is coming for Gears of War 2 July 28th you need to pull your head out of the sand and stop living in a cave. Having said that, how many people are going to buy it? If you are one of the few that haven't heard of the new DLC just head over to G4's website and take a look.
Well to keep a long story short, the new DLC isn't all that "new." It's supposed to contain 7 new maps along with a deleted/added scene to the campaign. The problem is that they are offering.....you know what.....fuck this. I'm sure you don't want ot hear a rant and I'm also positive you can figure the shit out for yourselves so my question is, How many ignorant bastards that are so stuck on the game are going to purchase the "new" DLC just because they can't stand the thought of not playing content that's available? You know, people like me! :)
Gears 2 pisses me off so much sometimes I swear I need to buy stock in controllers and other breakables! (j/k) Yet, i still purchase every piece of DLC like a trained monkey. Go figure right? oh well.
Just FYI, I'm now ranked 167 or 162 in Annex. Going to try and break into the double digits by the weekend!
Looks like we are going to be staying up in Lordstown, Ohio a bit longer than anticipated. Quite a bit longer. This job just keeps getting worse and worse. I just want to go home and be with my family. I'm ready to throw all that I've worked so hard for and go apply for my McJob at this point. What's the point in making money if you can't be around the one's you love to enjoy it? Yeah it keeps food on the table and clothes on your back but, there are other opportunities out there that don't require this kind of sacrifice. Maybe I'm just not cut out for this type of work or maybe the job is just as shitty as what I think it is I'm not sure.
Does anyone else out there have a job that requires a ton of travel, extended time away from home & no compensation for being out of town? If so, how do you handle it? How do you balance the time? I'm open for suggestions at this point because I have nothing left.
On a different note, I'm almost ranked under 200 on the Annex private matches for Gears of War 2. It's only because I have nothing else to do in my apartment so I play countless hours of Gears. And I don't play public because it is broken. Public is garbage. I find myself wanting to break everything when i play public and that's not a good thing! :)
thanks for listening

Well I finally made it home. A day later than scheduled which sucked ass. Not only did it shorten my weekend home with my family but, I also missed out on the Gears 2 tourney. I was looking forward to hanging out with the people from 2old2play but, maybe next time.
My stay at home is short lived. I have to leave again on tuesday and head back to Lordstown, Ohio. This time I will be taking the xbox so i will have something to do at night besides watch crappy cable tv. Granted, i did have some time to do some iphone programming which was nice because that shit takes time. But after staring at a computer screen all day at the plant and then coming back to the apartment and trying to do the same kind of eats at you real quick. I will probably be taking a variety of games up with me including Gears 1 & 2, Halo 3, and a few others so if anyone is interested in doing some gaming please just send me a FR and join up. I will most likely be in private matches that way my co-worker can join in on the fun. the 2 of us are going to be there for two weeks and were both gamers so having the xbox up there will be nice.
On a different note, it was so nice to be home. Strangely enough, while I was gone for some reason my house decided it needed a bath. Let me explain. 2 nights before I was set to go home my 55 gallon fish tank decided it was going to leak...at the bottom of the tank. So my wife had to clean out the tank as fast as she could and empty the tank. Move the tank, the base cabinet, and all the supplies and then clean all that water up. and then shampoo the carpet. I lost my fish. Oh well, sucks..but oh well.
Then, after getting the storm of the century on Friday (the reason I couldn't fly home) kitchen floor was soaked. It rained so hard it flooded my window in the kitchen (storm window was up and it's an older home). So it leaked into my kitchen, soaking the carpet in there (carpet in kitchen sucks anyway, just haven't tiled yet) and then making its way into my finished basement into the laundry room. Looks like I will be redoing that ceiling while I'm at it. Yet another mess my wife had to clean up. Poor woman wasn't getting shit for sleep and of course still had to take care of our daughter and work the next day on each occasion.
Needless to say my house smells like fish water still, i no longer have any fish and now I've got even more repair work to do this summer. Oh well, it's still good to be home. Now where's that tape measure???....
