What to do?

Goodness ever since I saw the GTA V trailer and the Beyond Two Souls interview vid that was posted earlier this week I've been asking myself, "Do I really need that PS4 at launch"?

I remember sitting in line for 7 hours at Meijer on October 25th 2000 waiting to purchase my PS2 at midnight. My fiance' was kind enough to wait for me in line til I got off work. I made friends with the dude next to me and we sat and talked about how awesome Tekken Tag was going to be. My gal brought us KFC and a 2 litter bottle of Coke which was really 3/4 JD and a splash of Coke... man she's the best and still is. It's funny that 13 years later I still remember how awesome that experience was... but back to the topic at hand.

Wife, 2 kids, daughters non the less, life responsibilities and the fact that I keep telling myself I'm a grown-up (even though I know better), I just am having a hard time being able to swallow what the initial cost is going to set me back. System, 2 games shit man I'm almost in $550.00! I've got 3/4 of the total purchase paid off and my wife is supporting me... cause let's be honest, there are far worse things I could be doing than playing games and she know's that. I'm just having that inner struggle everyone has before making any sort of large un-needed purchase. I want it, but there is that inner grown-up tucked way down deep inside my being that is telling me no.

How do I tell it to shut the hell up and quit making sense?

Anybody else going through this?

I lack the responsible inner voice you speak of - I'm a complete tool.

Sorry I can't help lol :)

Can they hang out? Mine could pick up a few pointers from yours.

Being a house husband myself, I too have struggled with these decisions in the past. However, usually I am reminded of just how little I spend on myself whenever I talk to a friend who had recently "gone out with the guys" for the evening. Think for a second how much it actually costs to go out and have even a few hours of fun with you and your buddies.

Dinner depending on where you go can easily run you 80-100 dollars. Then, if you're like a lot of my friends, you head to the bar. There you're easily dropping another $50-$100 dollars, if it's a strip club it can and will be signifigantly more. Not to mention all of the drama and possible hang overs that go with this lovely outing.

Or lets say you go to the hockey/football game. Well the tickets alone will cost you at least $100, that is of course if you want to sit anywhere below the stratosphere. Don't even think about leaving there without spending another $100 on booze and food, because it just doesn't happen

So basically, you could easily spend $200 on the low end, for one evening that you may want to forget. I think spending the money for your console, be it the Xbone or PS4 is completely practical and will save you quite a bit in the long run.

I was going through the same thing. When Mrs. rogue said to me plain and simple.

"Are you still a gamer? or do you think your still a gamer cause you dont want to grow up?"

I`ll be picking up my PS4 early next year.

Yes, yes I am.

I have tried to preorder through online retailers a couple of times but havent managed to "check out" yet. My sensible genes are really kicking in. Then I see that Battlefield 4 trailer again.......
